The joke's on you, Infidels

That true image of Islam is apparently one of supremacism and conquest, since Ahmadinejad himself has said: “Have no doubt… Allah willing, Islam will conquer what? It will conquer all the mountain tops of the world.”

“Iran – President asks Muslims to introduce true image of Islam to world people,” from ISRIA, December 19:

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the spirit of seeking God and justice has been revived in today world, stressing that Muslims worldwide are duty bound to correctly introduce Islam to the world nations. In a meeting with members of Islamic groups residing in Denmark on Friday, the Iranian top diplomat said Islam was the hard core of all sciences and human values, stressing that the holy religion of Islam was capable of offering all the truth and facts needed to attain a sublime life.

To a question by one of the participants in the meeting about the US military attack against Iran, the president said: “This is in fact our question from Americans: Why you are so eager to attack Iran or the region and why do you impose the Zionist regime on the region which is at the very heart of the Islamic world?…”

Projection Alert:

He said this was because the Americans were after sowing discord among Muslims, noting that all the stories they revealed merely aimed at labeling certain groups of people as victims of the oppressive acts in an attempt to pave the way for occupation of Palestine, all of which being certainly a colonial and hegemonic objective.Ahmadinejad said all those programs were worked out to ultimately gain dominance over the Middle East.

He also noted that after the victory of the Islamic Revolution in Iran under the leadership of the Late Imam Khomeini there came an overwhelming spirit of Islamic revival in the Islamic world which invoked people to fight oppressors.

Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said that wrath of the hegemonic powers was due to Islam’s revival….

Still waiting for those who Understand Islam Correctly, such as Honest Ibe Hooper, Brave Ahmed Rehab, etc. etc. etc., to explain how exactly this avowedly devout Muslim Ahmadinejad is Misunderstanding Islam.

Ayatollah Assahola – og Ahmadinnerjacket

Ikke særligt populære hos iranske flygtninge i Danmark. Her en stribe fotos fra dagens demonstration imod Ahmadinejad, og dermed ayatollaherne by proxy, som skal til middag med H.M. Dronning Margrethe.

Juden 'Raus! ???

Juden 'Raus! ???

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad revealed to have Jewish past

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s vitriolic attacks on the Jewish world hide an astonishing secret, evidence uncovered by The Daily Telegraph shows.

A photograph of the Iranian president holding up his identity card during elections in March 2008 clearly shows his family has Jewish roots.

A close-up of the document reveals he was previously known as Sabourjian – a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver.

The short note scrawled on the card suggests his family changed its name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to embrace Islam after his birth.

The Sabourjians traditionally hail from Aradan, Mr Ahmadinejad’s birthplace, and the name derives from “weaver of the Sabour”, the name for the Jewish Tallit shawl in Persia. The name is even on the list of reserved names for Iranian Jews compiled by Iran’s Ministry of the Interior.

Experts last night suggested Mr Ahmadinejad’s track record for hate-filled attacks on Jews could be an overcompensation to hide his past.

Ali Nourizadeh, of the Centre for Arab and Iranian Studies, said: “This aspect of Mr Ahmadinejad’s background explains a lot about him.”

“Every family that converts into a different religion takes a new identity by condemning their old faith.

“By making anti-Israeli statements he is trying to shed any suspicions about his Jewish connections. He feels vulnerable in a radical Shia society.”

A London-based expert on Iranian Jewry said that “jian” ending to the name specifically showed the family had been practising Jews.

“He has changed his name for religious reasons, or at least his parents had,” said the Iranian-born Jew living in London. “Sabourjian is well known Jewish name in Iran.”

A spokesman for the Israeli embassy in London said it would not be drawn on Mr Ahmadinejad’s background. “It’s not something we’d talk about,” said Ron Gidor, a spokesman.

The Iranian leader has not denied his name was changed when his family moved to Tehran in the 1950s. But he has never revealed what it was change from or directly addressed the reason for the switch.

Relatives have previously said a mixture of religious reasons and economic pressures forced his blacksmith father Ahmad to change when Mr Ahmadinejad was aged four.

The Iranian president grew up to be a qualified engineer with a doctorate in traffic management. He served in the Revolutionary Guards militia before going on to make his name in hardline politics in the capital.

During this year’s presidential debate on television he was goaded to admit that his name had changed but he ignored the jibe.

However Mehdi Khazali, an internet blogger, who called for an investigation of Mr Ahmadinejad’s roots was arrested this summer.

Mr Ahmadinejad has regularly levelled bitter criticism at Israel, questioned its right to exist and denied the Holocaust. British diplomats walked out of a UN meeting last month after the Iranian president denounced Israel’s ‘genocide, barbarism and racism.’

Benjamin Netanyahu made an impassioned denunciation of the Iranian leader at the same UN summit. “Yesterday, the man who calls the Holocaust a lie spoke from this podium,” he said. “A mere six decades after the Holocaust, you give legitimacy to a man who denies the murder of six million Jews while promising to wipe out the State of Israel, the State of the Jews. What a disgrace. What a mockery of the charter of the United Nations.”

Mr Ahmadinejad has been consistently outspoken about the Nazi attempt to wipe out the Jewish race. “They have created a myth today that they call the massacre of Jews and they consider it a principle above God, religions and the prophets,” he declared at a conference on the holocaust staged in Tehran in 2006.

In September 1988, the Indian-born British writer Salman Rushdie published “The Satanic Verses,” a novel containing what some saw as an irreverent depiction of the prophet Mohamed. In February 1989 – exactly ten years after leading Iran’s Islamic Revolution- the Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini issued a fatwā calling the book “blasphemous” and offering a bounty for Rushdie’s murder.

One month later, Britain broke relations with Iran. But most other nations responded fecklessly, if at all. And in 1998, Britain restored relations with Iran after its rulers offered a meaningless promise: They would “neither support nor hinder assassination operations on Rushdie” undertaken in response to Khomeini’s decree. Seven years later, the fatwā was reaffirmed by Khomeini’s successor, Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, in a message to Muslim pilgrims making the haj to Mecca. Since then, Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also have declared the death sentence valid.

In January, Roxana Saberi, a 32-year-old American journalist – she has reported for National Public Radio, the BBC and other media — was arrested in Tehran on patently bogus charges of espionage – the same charge, by the way, that was made against journalist Daniel Pearl by the militant Islamists who kidnapped and, eventually, slaughtered him in Pakistan.

Last month, Saberi was hastily tried – one day, behind closed doors — and sentenced to 8 years in prison. On April 21st, she defiantly went on a hunger strike. She stayed on it for 15 days until this week when, according to her Iranian-born father, Reza Saberi, her health began to sharply deteriorate.

UPDATE:

IAEA says Iran has improved its nuclear centrifuges

The United Nations nuclear watchdog declared on Monday that it had reached a “dead end” in its year-long effort to get Iran to clarify whether it covertly researched the development of a nuclear weapon.

Unveiling one of the most damning reports it has yet published on Iran’s nuclear programme, the International Atomic Energy Agency said it had been unable to make “any substantive progress” in its attempt to get Iran to answer allegations that there may have been a military dimension to its nuclear programme.

S-300 Patriot under affyring

S-300 Patriot under affyring

Iran opsender raket

White House: Iran Rocket Launch ‘Troubling’

CRAWFORD (AFP)–The White House said Sunday Iran’s announcement it had launched a home-built rocket into space was “troubling” because such technology could also be used for ballistic missiles.

Fra Yahoo News:

“The Safir (Ambassador) rocket was successfully launched. All its systems … are Iranian made,” Reza Taghipour, head of Iran’s space agency, told state television, adding that a “test satellite was put into orbit.”

“We have paved the way for placing a satellite in space in future,” state television said, showing images of the pre-dawn rocket launch.

Western governments suspect Iran is trying to build an atomic weapon and have voiced concern that the technology used in the Islamic republic’s space program could be diverted to military use, claims denied by Tehran.

Sunday’s development came amid an international standoff over Tehran’s long-standing refusal to suspend uranium enrichment, a process which makes nuclear fuel but also the core of an atomic bomb.

“The Iranian development and testing of rockets is troubling and raises further questions about their intentions,” spokesman Gordon Johndroe said as U.S. President George W. Bush spent time on his Texas ranch.

“This action and dual use possibilities for their ballistic missile program are inconsistent with their U.N. Security Council obligations,” said Johndroe.

Blacktalk

Statement to the UN Human Rights Council on Item 4: Human Rights Situations that Require the Council’s Attention

Ahmadinejad på FN’s talerstol

UNITED NATIONS via Fox — Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad declared Tuesday that Iran’s disputed nuclear program is closed as a political issue and said Tehran will ignore a U.N. Security Council demand imposed by “arrogant powers” to curb its nuclear program.

Instead, he told world leaders at the U.N. General Assembly that Iran has decided to pursue the monitoring of its nuclear program “through its appropriate legal path,” the International Atomic Energy Agency, which is the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency.

When Ahmadinejad was ushered to the podium, the U.S. delegation walked out, leaving only a low-ranking note-taker to listen to his speech, which indirectly accused the United States and Israel of major human rights violations. State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos said the U.S. wanted “to send him a powerful message.”

The Iranian president spoke hours after French President Nicolas Sarkozy warned the assembly that allowing Iran to arm itself with nuclear weapons would be an “unacceptable risk to stability in the region and in the world.” In her talk, German Chancellor Angela Merkel threatened tougher sanctions against Iran.

Iran insists the program is purely peaceful, aimed solely at using nuclear reactors to generate electricity. But the United States and key European nations believe the program is a cover for an Iranian attempt to produce nuclear weapons.
